MERDEKA! I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you Happy 57th Independence Day! Most of all, to Malaysia, a country where I was born and raised. Living in this beautiful place with diverse cultures and races for almost 20 years allows me to be a person to treat everyone equally, regardless of colours, ethnics and religions. In addition, I am blessed to be able to learn various cultures and traditions, as well as enjoying various types of scrumptious food! Above is the Merdeka doodle on Google's webpage today! It is created by Hong Yi, or commonly known as Red, a 27 years old Malaysian artist-architect who enjoys creating art using natural resources instead of brush.


The doodle was a combination of decorated petals of Hibiscus (Rosa Sinesis) flower, which is the National flower of Malaysia. In fact, Red has created two versions of the doodle, one with the combination of red and yellow petals while the other was a combination of red and pink petals. Which one do you like better?
