UK singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding hits America with her sensational hits,Lights, one of her songs in her  album,Bright Lights.Lights managed to be charted on 3rd place in the Billboard's Hot 100.According to Goulding, the meaning of Lights is-
"I named it that because I never used to sleep with the lights off. I still don’t, in fact. They make me feel safe and I wanted the album to be something that I could look back on. Your first album is the most important thing, you know, and I just thought it fit my music because it’s hopeful and uplifting"-Adapted from Clichemag.
She had also created some various versions of Lights, each have their own uniqueness. For me,I am intrigued bu the voice of hers as well as the lyrics!Enjoy the music video below.

Lights lyrics
I had a way then
Losing it all on my own
I had a heart then
But the queen has been overthrown
And I'm not sleeping now
The dark is too hard to beat
And I'm not keeping up
The strength I need to push me

You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone

Noises, I play within my head
Touch my own skin
And hope they'll still be there
And I think back to when
My brother and my sister slept
In another place
The only time I feel safe

You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
And dreaming when they're gone
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone

(Lights, lights, lights, lights, lights, lights)

You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
Dreaming when they're gone
'cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
Calling, calling, calling home
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine them when I'm alone

Home, home
(lights, lights, lights)

Home, home
(lights, lights, lights)
