My friend decided to make a final gathering at this amazingly delicious laksa house before she left Malaysia for Melbourne back in February. The restaurant is known as W. W. Laksa House which stands for Water Works Laksa House 水塘路辣沙 and it is located along Jalan Kolam Air, Taman Water Works, Johor Bahru. The restaurant needed no introduction as the signboard generally spoke for itself. It is indeed famous for it's signature dish, the laksa which was filled with tau pok, fired beancurd skin, fried fish cake slices, bean sprouts, fragrant basil leaves, not to mention fresh cockles. You can in fact choose to add ingredients based on your preference.

The laksa was available in small ( RM 5), medium (RM 6) and large (RM 7) portion. Besides, the price will increase according to the added ingredients. The soup was really really good as it has a thick aroma of ground spices coupled with adequate amount of coconut milk. However, I found the portion was pretty small although I ordered the large one. Other than laksa, the laksa house also sells otah otah which were offered in a tray. It cost about 70 cents (if I am not wrong) and you only pay for the amount of sticks you ate. Personally speaking, I did not really like the otah otah that much as I have tasted better ones which was bought at Muar. What do you think of W. W. Laksa House? Eminent for its wide array of gourmet tea selection, The Teavana is a magnificent Victorian style cafe with gorgeous interior designs. It merely appears like one of the scenes from the Alice in Wonderlands and the environment is ideal for those with affinity for having high tea with exquisite porcelain tea sets in pastel color theme place. Other than prettily made scones, muffins and cupcakes for the classic English afternoon tea, the Teavana also offers mains such as pasta, pizzas and the likes. In addition, the cafe also sells teapots, teas and other accessories.







On a scorching hot Friday afternoon, my friends and I went to visit this cafe to have our lunch for we found out that there was a 'buy one free one' mains promotion that was going on. The place was really pretty and dreamy and beautifully decorated with floral prints and sofas. We ordered different pastas such as the creamy greenish spaghetti with crab meat, soft shell crab and fish roe (RM32.90), spicy mixed seafood alio olio(RM32.90), fresh black squid ink spaghetti with spicy sausages (RM32.90) and the likes. Unfortunately, the soft shell crab and black squid ink spaghetti were out of order so they were changed to fettuccini smoked duck with lemon garlic cream pastas. #sads

I have to admit that despite the disappointment, the smoked duck pastas tasted amazingly delicious and we also took the opportunity to look around the cafe and snapped some photos. Much to our surprise, there were actually two rooms that were opened for customers (probably for functions) and they were meticulously decorated with vintage English furnitures and electronics. Unfortunately, the wifi service was down on that day. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely return to this cafe again in the future! What do you think about the Teavana? On mid of January, I visited this lovely cafe with Japanese theme called the "Miyakori" Cafe which is located in Taman Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru. There was a heavy downpour on that particular day and we had to brave through the horrendous rain with our seemingly weak and fragile folding umbrellas.

The design of the cafe was really nice with lots of adorable cartoon figures on the walls. I particularly like the selection of pastel coloured decorations at the cafe and the wooden floors, not to mention the wooden tables coupled with off white chairs. Overall, the environment of the cafe was good and I felt comfortable spending time in that place.
















The menu was pretty simple and there were few choices for each sections such as pastas, breakfast, sandwich, main course, and the likes. I decided to order Kobacha Curry Katsu Rice (RM15.50) since the portion looked pretty huge (I was really hungry at that time) and the chicken looked good. Some of my friends ordered the baked rice while the others had pastas for their lunch. Honestly, the curry was way below my expectation for I thought that it would be really flavourful since it was cooked until it thickened. Not only was the chicken soggy, it was pretty much tasteless without chilli powder. I will not likely suggest this cafe in the future when we are going to have our lunch.
