Gravity 2013

August 03, 2014

Gravity is a 2013 American science fiction thriller movie stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts. Sandra Bullock was acting as Dr Ryan Stone, a competent medical engineer who was on her first space mission to repair space shuttle with experienced astronaut, Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). What seems to be an ordinary space mission turns into chaos when a catastrophe hits them, causing their space shuttles destroy into pieces of useless metals. Unfortunately, only Dr Ryan Stone and Matt Kowalsky remain as survivor of the disaster, leaving them completely alone in the orbit. Moreover, the deafening silence tells that they have lost all the link to Earth, having no chance calling for rescue.Their only way is to venture into the darkness of the space, travelling far away from their point of origin in order to get back to Earth. Armed with absurdly limited amount of oxygen, their new mission is to remain alive and safely return to Earth. #SPOILERALERT.
In the end, only Dr Ryan make it back to Earth in a piece. In my opinion, the movie is quite boring as most of the time Dr Ryan was left spiralling in the space due to lack of gravity. In addition, I just could not understand why Dr Ryan did not extinguish the flames/ sparks when she noticed it in the Chinese spacecraft. If she were to do that, explosions will not happen and she would have already return to Earth! Anyway, I have to admit that the graphic of the movie is marvellous! I mean, how can you even make the space sceneries looks so real and breath-taking at the same? Probably a lot of effects being included in the movie. On that note, I am going to end this post! Enjoy the trailer and till then, au revoir!
