Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
June 03, 2013
USA indie rock band Imagine Dragons' current track, "Radioactive" from their "Night Visions" album is a major hit and managed to reach top 10 in Billboard Hot 100.There is just one word that I can describe 'Radioactive' - Addictive! The indie rock song, involving elements of electronic rock and dubstep as well as cryptic lyrics of apocalyptic and revolutionist themes.Imagine Dragons' frontman,Dan Reynolds, explained that the inspiration behind the song was the twilight, which is the band's favourite moments."When the title came up in conversation, we just knew it was right,"said by Dan."We always write between 3 am and 6 am, that's when we write best. That's the only time we write actually. Our guitarist is a clinical insomniac; he sends me stuff that he's written after being up for five days straight. A lot of that guitar made its way to the album.
After dark, my lyrics are born. A lot of lyrics I have written have come from dreams and of course nightmares."Dan Reynolds added. He told MTV News the meaning of the song,""'Radioactive,' to me, it's very masculine, powerful-sounding song, and the lyrics behind it, there's a lot of personal story behind it, but generally speaking, it's a song about having an awakening; kind of waking up one day and deciding to do something new, and see life in a fresh way,". "A lot of people hear it in a dark way, but, I think, without saying the word too many times, it's empowering, and so we wanted to display that in a way that the listener wouldn't see normally."Personally,I either you like it or you hate it as there's no neutral feeling for the song.Do enjoy the song though!Au revoir
Radioactive lyrics
Woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah
Woah
I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
I raise my flags, don my clothes
It's a revolution, I suppose
We're painted red to fit right in
Whoa
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
All systems go, the sun hasn't died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive
